Artist Statement

I have spent my life contemplating the universe with wonder. I have a horror of the obvious, a need to search for meaning, and the truth behind meaning. Every second of every day I try to see beyond the obvious or easy interpretation of words, objects, pictures, and decide what they truly mean, all the different things they might truly be.

It is this need to interpret that leads me to collage. Taking the endless media we are presented with and really contemplating each fragment of each picture, each word, is a meditative process. In recombining these fragments I desire to tell stories, to find patterns and similarities, and to express my affection for the numinous.
